The 15 December creeps closer for anyone considering entering a script for the $1000 prize script competition. ICWP is running the contest in collaboration with USA script publishers Playscripts Inc. The contest, which may become an annual event, forms part of ICWP's 25 Year Anniversary celebration.

Playscripts want to remind playwrights to carefully read the Playscript criteria before submitting; they are not looking for very short plays. They want short plays that would be about 30-40 minutes in performance length. There are some samples linked to the blog on Playscripts where the competition info and submission details are kept.

Playscripts say the blog posting has received more hits than any of their other blog posts. Please click on the link to go to Playscripts blog http://goo.gl/TqCA86.

Anyone wanting to submit a play should use Playscripts submission process and we hope you and your organisation can help to broadcast the contest details to women playwrights everywhere.

The winner of the competition will receive $1,000 prize provided together by ICWP and Playscripts. The winner will be announced as ICWPs lead event on International Womens Day 2014. They will be making plans to celebrate the finalists as well, so keep an eye out for announcements early in 2014 to learn about these extra events.
