Uruguayan pianist/producer Polly Ferman will present "GlamourTango," the all-female multi-media music and dance spectacle that pays tribute to the women who, until now, have not been recognized for their early contributions to the irresistible art form. The show includes fascinating and rarely seen black and white films from Argentina, recorded in the early forties, featuring female singers and tango dancers. Polly Ferman has created and produced this stylish production of tango music and dance from South America's Rio de la Plata region, performed by an ensemble of musicians, vocalists and dancers who specialize in the art of Tango.

"GlamourTango" was premiered in Uruguay in 2009 and has since been performed in Argentina and Brazil, and in the U.S. in Chicago and New York.

The all-female cast includes musicians and dancers from South America, the U.S., Korea, Cuba, Israel and Germany on piano, double bass, bandoneon, guitar, flute, violin and vocals. Music includes compositions by famed tango composers Astor Piazzolla, Horacio Salgan, Anselmo Aieta, Pintin Castellanos, Rosita Quiroga, Enrique Mendizabel, Daniel Binelli, and more.

GlamourTango is one of the 50 attractions on this year's Latin American Cultural Week (LACW), an annual city-wide Festival showcasing the richness and variety of the culture of Latin America. LACW is presented by PAMAR (Pan American Musical Art Research), a 30-year old organization founded and directed by Polly Ferman.
