Yiddish Theatre star and Emmy Award-winning actor Fyvush Finkel, who is celebrating his 83rd birthday with the release of his new CD "It's Never Too Late" (Original Cast Records), will perform on Sunday September 18th. Finkel (with sons Ian and Elliot Finkel), will perform songs from his CD at YiddishFest 2005 at Lincoln Center's Damrosch Park. The free performance, which also features David Krakauer, The Klez Dispensers and Joanne Borts among others, begins at 6 PM and is open to the public.

Finkel, who won the Best Supporting Actor Emmy-Award for playing 'Douglas Wambaugh' on "Picket Fences", was also seen as 'Harvey Lipschultz' on "Boston Legal." His first acting role was 51 years earlier in the numerous Jewish theaters along New York City's legendary Second Avenue. He toured the USA and Canada, playing the Innkeeper, then the Butcher and finally Tevye, over a 12-year period.

Finkel has appeared with sons Ian, a master mallet percussionist, and Elliot, a noted pianist, along with his grandson Abbot, a drummer, in two musical reviews -- Finkel's Follies and From Second Avenue to Broadway, performing songs from both the Yiddish theater and Broadway. His additional theater credits include an Obie Award-winning performance in Cafe Crown and a five-year stint as the star of Off-Broadway's Little Shop of Horrors. Film credits include Nixon, For Love Or Money, Mobsters, Seize the Day and Q&A. His additional television credits include the revival of "Fantasy Island," "Early Edition," "One Life to Live," "Evergreen," "Prime of Your Life" and "The Simpsons."
