Who hasn't seen the play or the movie or listened to the music from Fiddler on the Roof? Since it first opened on Broadway in 1964, Fiddler has become beloved around the world for its humor and cultural relevance.

Currently enjoying its fifth Broadway revival, Fiddler is also celebrated in Tradition!:The Highly Improbable, Ultimately Triumphant Broadway-to-Hollywood Story of Fiddler on the Roof, The World's Most Beloved Musical, a Los Angeles Times bestseller from journalist and author Barbara Isenberg. Tradition!, which Library Journal called "a deliciously rich and detailed story of an American musical-theater jewel," has now been made into an audiobook by award-winning audio play producer LA Theatre Works, a non-profit dedicated to the capture, preservation and distribution of great performances.

With narration by acclaimed voice actor Adam Grupper, who is currently in the Broadway revival of Fiddler, Tradition weaves together behind-the-scenes stories and anecdotes about the history, creation, and legacy of this iconic musical. Isenberg interviewed the men and women behind the original production, the film and significant revivals including Harold Prince, Sheldon Harnick, Joseph Stein, Jerry Bock, Joanna Merlin, Norman Jewison, Topol, Harvey Fierstein and many more.

"We are thrilled to participate in helping fans around the world further appreciate one of their favorite musicals," LA Theatre Works Producing Director, Susan Albert Loewenberg, said. "What perfect timing to have Adam Grupper narrate in conjunction with the 50th anniversary Broadway revival. I know everyone is going to love it."

Funding for the audiobook was provided with major support from The Lear Family Foundation and the Jewish Community Federation of Los Angeles. Additional support comes from Paula Brand Fariba Ghaffari, Rachel Goodman, Barry & Marilyn Hinden, Bernard Sobelsohn and Joyce Zaitlin.

Tradition! is available on amazon.com and other places where audiobooks are sold, also at store.latw.org.

The original Broadway production of Fiddler on the Roof, which opened in 1964, was the first musical in history to surpass 3,000 performances. The show won the 1965 Tony Award for Best Musical in addition to eight other Tony Awards that year. This acclaimed revival proudly introduces a new generation to the iconic musical adored across the globe.
