EPAC will present a staged reading of Countenance by Chet Williamson on November 8, 2014.

On the hundredth anniversary of the start of The Great War, Countenance presents an unflinching look at how society welcomes the return of its fragile and damaged heroes.

In 1916, the hideously wounded David Hardy returns to London, where his deformities prove too great a barrier for his wife. His old school friend Ted takes him to the solitude of his family lodge, where David tries to accept his new life. But conflicts and manipulation encroach upon the idyllic surroundings and threaten to destroy old friendships and new loves.

Directed by Rich Repkoe and with a cast that includes Joshua Kirwin, Bob Breen Stephanie Jo Wise, Larry Gessler and Holly Andrew, this is a wonderful opportunity to see a premiere reading of a theatrical work from renowned writer Chet Williamson.

Tickets for this staged reading are $10 and available at the door the day of the performance, online at www.ephrataperformingartscenter.com or by calling the EPAC box office at 733-7966 ext.1.
