DBD Productions Brings HALFWAY, NEBRASKA to FringeNYC, Now thru 8/22
DBD PRODUCTIONS will present the world premiere of HALFWAY, NEBRASKA as part of the 18th Annual New York International Fringe Festival - FringeNYC, written by Briandaniel Oglesby (She Gets Naked in the End - Latinidad Award) and directed by Daniel R. Melnick.
HALFWAY, NEBRASKA will play a limited engagement at Venue #4: Teatro LATEA at the Clemente (107 Suffolk Street between Rivington and Delancey). Performances are tonight, August 8th at 8:45 pm, Sunday, August 10th at 12:00 pm, Thursday, August 14th at 5:30 pm, Tuesday, August 19th at 8:45 pm and Friday, August 22nd at 4:45 pm. Press are invited to all performances.
HALFWAY, NEBRASKA follows Sheila, and her two adoptive children, Nate and Miri, as they roadtrip across the country from California to Nebraska. Nate's deeply troubled, and at times, explosively violent, and Sheila plans to take advantage of a loophole in Nebraska's Safe Haven law that would allow her to abandon Nate at a hospital without any legal penalty. As the miles tick away, the bonds that hold this fragile family together strain and eventually break.
The production stars Delphina Belle (Fading Gigolo, Blacklist, Elementary), Yvonne Perry* (As the World Turns - Soap Opera Digest Award) and Ted Sutherland* (Off-Bway: Fanny, New York City Center Encores; Fading Gigolo).
The production features scenic and lighting design by Lauren Bremen, sound design by Ian Wehrle and projection design by Grant McDonald. Casting by Michael Cassara.

BRIANDANIEL OGLESBY (Playwright) recently graduated from the University of Texas at Austin's MFA Playwriting program. This year, he won the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival's Latinidad Award for his play, She Gets Naked in the End, which included an observership at the Sundance Theatre Lab. Prior to that, he was a three-time National Finalist for KCACF awards. Halfway, Nebraska was developed at Playwrights Week at the Lark in 2012. He also holds an MFA in Creative Writing from University of California at Riverside. He is co-founder of Barnyard Theatre in Northern California, and he lives in Austin, Texas.
DANIEL R. MELNICK (Director, DBD Productions) is a freelance producer, director, composer, and sound designer. DELPHINA BELLE (Miri) is excited to be making her stage debut in Halfway, Nebraska. Delphina recently made her feature film debut alongside Woody Allen, Liev Schreiber and Vanessa Paradis in John Turturro's new film, Fading Gigolo, and was the voice of Lila in the English version of Oscar Nominated animated feature, Ernest & Celestine. Her television roles include "Beth Ryker," the little girl who was kidnapped in the pilot episode of NBC'sThe Blacklist, "Kayden Fuller," the little girl who was kidnapped in Elementary ("The Diabolical Kind," CBS), and the little girl who avoids getting kidnapped on The Americans ("Yousaf," FX). YVONNE PERRY (Sheila) recently originated the role of "Lisa" in productions of The God Game at Gulfshore Playhouse and Capital Rep. She will reprise the role again this fall at Hudson Stage. Favorite regional credits include: The Sisters Rosensweig (Gorgeous), A Christmas Story (Mother), and Intimate Apparel (Mrs. VanBuran) ? all at Capital Rep. The Merry Wives of Windsor (Mistress Page), with Saratoga Shakespeare; The Elephant Man (Mrs. Kendal) and Present Laughter (Liz), both with Broadway star Kevin McGuire at Hubbard Hall. Other regional theatre credits include shows at NYSTI, River Valley Rep, Stageworks/Hudson, and Oldcastle. She recently performed with Theatre 88 and their multi-media production of If All The Sky Were Paper, and she previously toured the northeast with their production of the thought provoking What I Heard About Iraq. In 1992, Yvonne originated the role of Rosanna Cabot on the CBS soap As The World Turns, and in 1993 she won a Soap Opera Award for her portrayal of the runaway heiress ? whom she played for five years. In 2012, she was nominated for an Indie Soap Award for her work as ?Valerie? on the web series EMPIRE. Other TV: Law & Order, CI; Silk Stalkings, Candid Camera, Guiding Light, All My Children. Yvonne also keeps busy as a spokeswoman and doing corporate training videos and narration work. Yvonne has taught and directed shows at several upstate colleges for over 14 years. THE NEW YORK INTERNATIONAL FRINGE FESTIVAL (FringeNYC) is one of the largest multi-arts events in North America. It takes place over the course of two weeks every August, spread on more than 20 stages across several neighborhoods in downtown Manhattan, notably the Lower East Side, the East Village, and Greenwich Village.
