Children's Museum of Manhattan Hosts 6th Annual Pride Night Tomorrow

The Children's Museum of Manhattan (CMOM), in partnership with Center Families, a family program of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) Community Center, and Goldman Sachs & Co. Community TeamWorks volunteer program, hosts its annual Pride Night, on Thursday, May 5 from 5:30 - 800pm. The evening is a celebration of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender parents, extended family and friends.

Admission to the event is free, but RSVP is required. Gay Parent Magazine is the proud media sponsor of this event.

The special after-hours event includes snacks, art activities and exclusive access to CMOM's five floors of hands-on exhibits, such as The Wizard of Oz, Adventures with Dora and Diego; Gods, Myths, and Mortals: Discover Ancient Greece; and PlayWorksTM. Goldman Sachs Community TeamWorks (CTW) volunteers will work with CMOM staff to make the visit memorable, helping instructors from Equinox lead a fun fitness class involving Latin dance steps.
Other activities include family face painting and finger painting at the PlayWorks mural wall.

We hope CMOM's LGBT community looks forward to this event as much as we do," said Andrew Ackerman, Executive Director of CMOM.

Pride Night special programs for all ages include:

Fitness Fun with Equinox
6:00pm & 7:00pm
Join Equinox instructors and move to the beat with easy-to-learn Latin and internationally infused dance steps. The music is sure get your family fit and having fun with Zumba!

A Rainbow of Veggies
6 PM - 7:45 PM
Combine different ingredients to create your own special dip to add your own special taste to a rainbow of fun veggie snacks!

Design a Colorful Creative Character Friend!
6 PM - 7:45 PM
Use Model Magic to design a colorful funny friend to take home with you.

Mural Wall
6 PM - 7:45 PM
Visit the PlayWorksTM early childhood exhibit and use paintbrushes, sponges and your hands to mix paint colors and get creative on CMOM's 6ft. mural wall!

CMOM is a leader in creating and implementing innovative and engaging programs that reach a diverse audience of children and families. The museum presents workshops, exhibitions and performances created by a team of professionals to provide educational opportunities for all children. This first museum experience helps in the development of young minds during their formative years.
