92Y announces a special one-night-only performance by Chicago's critically acclaimed improv troupe, The Improvised Shakespeare Company, on Friday, April 7.

Based on one audience suggestion (a title for a play that has yet to be written) The Improvised Shakespeare Company creates a fully improvised Shakespearean masterpiece right before your eyes. Nothing is planned-out, rehearsed, or written. All the dialogue is said for the first time, the characters are created as you watch, and if ever you're wondering where the story is going...so are they! You've never seen the Bard like this before!

The Improvised Shakespeare Company has been performing its unique show to sold-out audiences in Chicago since 2005. Since then The ISC has expanded its reach and now entertains audiences across the US with its national touring company. Beyond performing arts centers, the troupe has been featured at Bonnaroo, the Bumbershoot Music and Arts Festival, Outside Lands, San Francisco Sketchfest, the Piccolo Spoleto Fringe Festival, UCB's Del Close Marathon, as well as the prestigious Just For Laughs festival in Montreal. They also perform monthly at Largo at the Coronet in Los Angeles to sold-out houses. Sir Patrick Stewart, one of the world's greatest Shakespearean actors, has joined the troupe for multiple performances.

92nd Street Y is a world-class, nonprofit cultural and community center that fosters the mental, physical and spiritual health of people throughout their lives, offering: wide-ranging conversations with the world's best minds; an outstanding range of programming in the performing, visual and literary arts; fitness and sports programs; and activities for children and families. 92Y is reimagining what it means to be a community center in the digital age with initiatives like the award-winning #GivingTuesday, launched by 92Y in 2012 and now recognized across the US and in a growing number of regions worldwide as a day to celebrate and promote giving.
