Carrollwood Players Theatre rings in the holiday season with a live stage presentation of the holiday classic, A CHRISTMAS CAROL, by Charles Dickens. Perfect for the entire family, this magical re-telling of the traditional tale of Ebenezer Scrooge opens on Friday, December 2, with nine performances through Sunday, December 18.

Producer Georgia Kosloski is excited to bring this updated holiday tale to the stage to delight both the young and young-at-heart:

"In producing the annual holiday show, it is my sincere wish that everyone can put aside the troubles of their life and let the show's magic transcend them to the joy and wonderment we all experience during the holiday season."

Featuring a large, all-volunteer cast from the community, the production promises to inspire the imagination with Victorian splendor, theatrical magic, and a timeless theme of finding hope and happiness within. Directed by Derek Baxter, and adapted for the stage by Jim Russell, A Christmas Carol is the perfect holiday outing for all ages.

Jim said, ""I have a special place in my heart for this story. This adaptation is the evolution of several past productions and includes laughter, drama, and a message of hope for all."

When miserly old Scrooge meets three ghosts on Christmas Eve, he is forced to face his darkest shortcomings. Will he find redemption and joy in time for Christmas? Come discover why this story is as relevant in the 21st century as it was when Dickens wrote it in the 1800s.

"The cast and crew of this show have worked so hard to make something special and unique. I wanted to create a brand-new experience, without veering too far from the wonderful classic story we all know and love," said Derek. "I hope our patrons walk away feeling a new modern connection to a story written in 1843 - something that can remind us of the true meaning of the story and feel as connected to it today as the lives it touched back then."
