Canadian Stage celebrates an innovative vision of theatre, dance, music and visual art - taking guests on a seductive journey through their artistic work with Theatre Ball 2015. The company's annual fundraising gala takes place tonight, March 26 at Arcadian Court (401 Bay St., #8). Hosted by Rick Miller and Carly Street, the stars of Canadian Stage's hit production Venus in Fur, the event will raise funds to support the company's artistic programming, development activities, community programs and education outreach initiatives. Guests will experience an evening of dancing and entertainment with performances from Taylor Mac, along with an enticing three-course meal and cocktails.
A highlight of the evening will be Mac's intimate performance supported by Emmy Award-winner, Lance Horne. Called "one of contemporary theater's more unforgettable performances" by The New Yorker, Mac will treat guests to an audacious musical performance before dinner. Later on, dynamic and multi-faceted artist - Toronto's own Maylee Todd - takes to the DJ booth to keep the dance floor busy all night long. Following dinner, guests are invited to take part in a live auction and a raffle for the opportunity to win a jewellery design experience and create a one-of-a-kind piece with Solitaire Jewellery.
