Cal State LA Announces New MFA in Acting in TV, Film and Theatre

Cal State LA is excited to announce its newly revised MFA in Acting in the University's Television, Film and Theatre (TVFT) Program. Now, with ongoing TV, film and theatre courses and performance opportunities, Cal State LA's MFA in Acting option is one of the few in the country that offers both an intensive, conservatory approach with comprehensive acting, voice and movement training. Students are also offered paid positions as graduate assistants and teaching associates working in the undergraduate program.

In addition, the MFA in Acting is considered among the most affordable programs in the country, and has the unique advantage of offering courses and interaction with professionals in the TV, film and theatre industries in Los Angeles. The program, housed in the University's state-of-the-art TV, Film and Media Center, is minutes from downtown Los Angeles. Faculty teaching-artists and scholars continue to work and present locally, nationally and internationally, ensuring that the training is current and relevant, preparing students for a successful career.

Applications for the MFA in Acting in the TVFT Program will be accepted now until Feb. 15, 2017, for Fall Semester 2017 admission: https://www.calstatela.edu/academic/tvft/application.php A maximum of 15 students will be accepted each year into the MFA in Acting program. Applicants will be considered based on an in-person audition and interview. Cal State LA graduates have successfully pursued careers in the entertainment industry, from acting and screenwriting to live theater and TV/film production. Alumni working in the field include prominent actors, visual effects artists, and Emmy award winners.
