Catherine Porter is asking friends and colleagues of Broadway's Bob Gaynor to donate funds to help him battle a serious illness. The actress writes that he is currently fighting for his life in the ICU at a hospital in New Jersey.

Porter writes: "His journey is going to require special medical attention and a long road to to get his strength and survive this. It's hard to say how much he and his beautiful love, Dwayne will need to see them through, but I'm starting somewhere in hopes that you will join me."

She appeared opposite Gaynor in Alliance Theatre's 2012 production of NEXT TO NORMAL.

Gaynor is known for his roles in Broadway's LEAP OF FAITH, CATCH ME IF YOU CAN, SWEET CHARITY, TABOO and AIDA, as well as off-Broadway's APPLAUSE and Encores! STAIRWAY TO PARADISE and BYE BYE BIRDIE.

He and his partner, Dwayne, also formed their own interior design company, Clark Gaynor Interiors.
