As the first annual Ozark Mountain Shindig - A Springtastic Celebration winds down; the final event planned is an attempt to set the world's longest Shindig line dance. Branson stars, area employees, residents, family, friends, and visitors will join together tonight, May 31 at 10:30 PM to dance the "Shindig Shuffle".

Lena Hughes, co-owner of the Hughes Brothers Theatre and the visionary behind the "Shindig Shuffle" line dance says, "Anyone wishing to participate on the night of May 31 is invited to lineup on the sidewalks alongHwy 76 from Dick Clark's American Bandstand Theatre to the corner of Hwy 76 & Shepherd of the Hills Expressway. If you're representing a particular business or organization or just yourself we encourage you to bring banners, signs, and to wear-t-shirts." Sue Braun from the Vacation Channel says, "Turn your car radio and outside speakers to radio station My 100.1 Radio and the song will first play at 10:30 PM, and play again at 10:35 PM and at 10:40 PM."

As part of the Ozark Mountain Shindig - A Springtastic Celebration the original song "Shindig Shuffle" was written, performed, and produced by the Hughes Brothers & Family (stars of "it" and the Hughes Brothers Christmas Show) as well as the Cole Family (from the show Ayo starring Voices of Glory). Along with the song, they created a special dance number that includes moves called the shindig, the jig, and more. A music video for the Shindig Shuffle debuts on YouTube this Thursday, May 22 at the Ozark Mountain Shindig YouTube channel http://youtu.be/qqO09KvFvog. Various shows, individuals, and businesses participated in the making of the video which was sponsored by the Vacation Channel and produced and co-directed by Jason Hughes. "This isn't just any old song and dance," says Cindy Merry, marketing chair for the Branson Show League, "it's something fun for all ages with a unique combination of musical genres that really reflects the dynamic and diverse nature of Branson's musical scene while still paying homage to the musical roots of the Ozarks."

Those interested in being a part of the attempt to set the world's record are invited to learn the dance by visiting OzarkMountainShindig.com to view an instructional video. They may also attend lessons at 1:00 PM at the Hughes Brothers Theatre on Tuesdays and Thursdays prior to May 31 as well as a special 6:00 PM lesson on Friday, May 30. Timothy Dutton of The Dutton's show says, "We want you to be a part of this fun event and get Shindiggity with us!" Carla Wright of Kayak Branson adds, "Being a part of the Shindig Nation has been great fun this spring and we've had fun with the Shindig Shuffle and our Kayakers. Be sure to check out the music video to see how anybody, even somebody on beautiful Lake Taneycomo can get shindiggity!"
