Austin Pendleton to Speak at Playhouse Creatures Tennessee Williams Festival

Legendary actor/director/teacher, Austin Pendleton will discuss his experiences acting in and directing Tennessee Williams' work. Pendleton is currently directing "The Two-Character Play," for Playhouse Creatures Theatre Company (previews begin June 29).

The hour-long conversation will take place on Friday, June 23, 6-7. It is part of Playhouse Creatures Theatre Company's Tennessee Williams Festival, running June 22-24. The Festival is being held at The Duo Multicultural Arts Center, 62 East 4th Street in New York City.

PCTC is dedicated to strengthening the legacy of the American Theatre with dynamic, affordable programming that examines the influences of the past on the present and future of our art form.

Since 2009, PCTC has produced 11 main stage productions (including the World Premiere of Tennessee Williams play, "The Recluse and His Guest", 6 new works series, five staged readings, as well as cabaret and comedy events. In its seven seasons, PCTC has collaborated with such theatre luminaries as Emily Mann, John Guare, Naomi Wallace, John Kolvenbach, Peter Sinn-Nachtrieb, Austin Pendleton, Cosmin Chivu and Thomas Keith, to name a few.

The company has served over 10,000 audience members both in NYC and in Boston with producing partner, Bridge Repertory Theater. At the same time, PCTC has continued and expanded its efforts to give back to the community through the Little Creatures Act Out camps for underserved youth, free readings and tickets for seniors, and an annual Red Cross blood drive.
