Aicon Gallery is pleased to present Reprise 2010, a group exhibition showcasing an intriguing array of the very best contemporary art from South Asia to have dignified our space in the past year. Many of the artists selected took part in our two standout contemporary group shows of 2010, Home and the World and Malleable Memory. We are also extremely excited to be exhibiting, for the first time, a challenging roster of emerging young artists from Pakistan, many for whom this exhibition will represent their debut showing in New York.

The exhibition Malleable Memory asked us to embrace our inherently subjective interpretations of both personal and collective histories through the evolving and illusive device of memory. Home and the World examined the ways in which contemporary artists in India utilized photography to capture the state of affairs within complex shared environments of individual, regional and national identities. Through the introduction of an emerging group of young Pakistani artists, we hope to provide a snapshot of the breadth and diversity of Pakistan's vibrant and evolving contemporary art scene, which was also the focus earlier this year in the Asia Society's groundbreaking Hanging Fire exhibition here in New York. Further highlights of the exhibition include stunning large-scale sculptural works by Adeela Suleman and G. R. Iranna, for whom Aicon has recently had the privilege to host successful solo exhibitions in New York. Aicon Gallery welcomes you to join Reprise 2010, and looks forward to another successful year.
