A night of Art Battle® ?live competitive painting connects the New York live painting community to the national and global tournaments. Twelve artists compete in timed rounds of live painting, the audience votes for winners, and all works are auctioned. The winner of this event will qualify for New York City Championships and ultimately the US and International Finals later in 2017.

Art Battle returns to NYC on Wednesday, April 5th with a live competition at (Le) Poisson Rouge.

Since 2001, artists have been coming together at Art Battle events in NYC with the goal of turning a blank canvas into a magnificent creation, and to share the secrets of artistic process with voting audiences. The movement has spread to more than 100 cities and 6 continents, with more than 1000 events produced. From Brooklyn to Europe, South America, Asia and beyond, Art Battle has showcased incredible creative talent and built communities and relationships that support live art as a way of expression, innovation and celebration.

Artists can apply to join the tournament at Artbattle.com. Events occur on a monthly basis in New York and in multiple cities across the nation and worldwide.

Confirmed artists for the April 5th competition include: Dragon 76 (February's winner, whose prized work is attached), Sole Rebel, Oscar Lett, Michael Fusco, Krissy Whiski, Ki Sub Lee, A.E. Kieren, Jaquelyn Puma and one wildcard artist will be chosen on the night of the event from applicants in the audience.
