The Atlanta Fringe Festival is excited to announce the lineup for the fifth annual edition of the festival, set to run June 8-12, 2016. As usual, the productions run a wild gamut, from family-friendly magic shows to improv, modern dance, aerial acrobatics, satirical comedy and everything in between.

Per Festival's tradition, the 20 productions were selected via random, unjuried lottery -- literally pulled out of a hat -- from a pool of over 30 submissions. This year's lineup, with 8 productions based in the Atlanta area, features a large number of solo shows and storytelling showcases, highlighting a shift towards a form that's grown increasingly popular in Atlanta's theatrical and literary scene. As with the previous year's festival, artists will be eligible for cash prizes, including Critics Panel Choice, Producer's Award (chosen by the Fringe staff) and awards for audience favorites. This year's venues, all located in East Atlanta, include 7 Stages (returning as the Festival's headquarters), the Montessori In Town and the Marianna event space at Wrecking Bar Brewpub.

"We're thrilled to be back for the fifth year of our festival," says Festival Executive Director Diana Brown. "We've learned a lot over the years and it's been incredible to watch this labor of love grow and enjoy so much support from the Atlanta community. We're really looking forward to blowing the doors off the place to celebrate Year Five with the artists, audiences and donors that keep us going strong!"

Submissions remain open for Fringe Audio, AFF's podcasting network that will stream free audio performances throughout the festival. Last year's audio artists racked up 2,000 listens from 26 countries, and this year promises to be even bigger with a $100 cash prize going to the most popular show in the festival. Audio submissions cost $20 and are accepted via the festival website (www.atlantafringe.org) on a first come/first served basis through February 29.
