Join the fun at Lawrence Community Theatre as the Tony Award winning musical CURTAINS takes the stage. Take a tone deaf diva murdered onstage, add a tap dancing detective trying to save the show and catch the killer, and mix it with a cast of suspects each trying to save him or herself. With a witty book and songs by Kander and Ebb, it all adds up to a laugh-filled evening you won't want to miss.
Performances of CURTAINS will be held on June 11, 12, *13, 17, 18, 19, *20, 24, 25(sold out), 26, and *27. Evening shows will begin at 7:30pm and *matinees will begin at 2:30pm.
The Theatre produces six to eight major shows each year, an extensive youth program, senior programming, and a script library. Speakers as well as performers are also available for meetings and conventions. Performances by The Travelers, the touring wing of Lawrence Community Theatre provide murder mystery dinner theatres and cabaret entertainment for convention groups and parties. A musical cabaret is also available for special bookings. The Theatre is a frequent participant in the American Association of Community Theatre Festival and has garnered both state and regional awards.
