Late Night Jazz: Mackwood at Royal Albert Hall

Drummer and producer Mackwood performs original songs and reimaginations of some legendary classic standards live in the Elgar Room as he gets ready to announce his debut album.

Harry Ling, a.k.a. Mackwood, is a London-based drummer and producer behind projects such as Levitation Orchestra, Col3trane and Nardeydey. An emerging alumnus of the acclaimed Tomorrow’s Warriors and Guildhall Jazz programs, he can be found collaborating frequently with the musicians behind Moses Boyd, Steam Down, Yussef Dayes, Arlo Parks and many more.

Mackwood’s own music strikes a balance between Jazz improv, progressive production and sound design. Distilling it into his own unique brand of Jazz-driven beats, he is as influenced by the great beatmakers as by the great drummers and instrumentalists.
