THE MONSTER - A Gothic Horror Musical at Acting Coach Scotland

A One-Man Gothic Horror Musical Book, Music & Lyrics by Joseph Helsing He wanted to conquer death. He never imagined what he would become. Victorian England. Behind the locked doors of a private laboratory, brilliant physician Dr Adrian Vale is on the brink of a discovery that could change humanity forever. Obsessed with overcoming the frailties of the human body, he believes he can defeat disease, transcend mortality and conquer the one enemy no man has ever escaped: death itself. But Adrian’s experiments have unleashed something terrible. As his body begins to transform into something grotesque and unfamiliar, a night of horror unfolds. Haunted by the voice of his beloved wife, Eleanor, and tormented by memories he cannot fully understand, Adrian struggles to hold on to his sanity — and the man he believes himself to be. Outside, the streets of Victorian London conceal a growing trail of violence. Inside the laboratory, Adrian’s grip on reality begins to crumble. As fragments of his past return and the experiment reaches its horrifying conclusion, he must confront the possibility that the greatest danger he faces may not be the creature emerging beneath his skin, but something far more disturbing. THE MONSTER is a dark, intimate gothic horror musical about love corrupted by obsession, scientific ambition without conscience, and the devastating consequences of refusing to face the truth. Drawing on the chilling traditions of Jekyll and Hyde and The Fly, this haunting new musical combines psychological horror, tragic romance and original music in a claustrophobic theatrical experience where every memory is suspect and nothing is quite as it seems. One performer. One room. One extraordinary experiment. And a night that will change everything. Because the most terrifying monsters are not always the ones we become. Sometimes, they are the ones we have been all along. NOTE: This is a livestream of the pro-shot performance.
