Panel Talk: Staging the (Un)translatable: Global Voices and Panlingual Dramaturgies at The Cockpit

Join professional theatre-makers, dramaturgs, translators, publishers and researchers for a panel talk examining the interrelation between (un)translatability, (un)stageability and (un)performability. In the context of Voila! Theatre Festival, the discussion considers panlingualism in theatre, the experience of making work in languages other than English and/or the creatives’ own mother tongue, and what it means to be an exophonic artist. The event includes a short reading from a contemporary play to prompt the conversation. Moderator: Dr Jozefina Komporaly (UAL Wimbledon College of Arts, academic and translator).
