Arjuna Oakes is a New Zealand born singer, songwriter, pianist, composer, and producer based in London. His music blends soul, jazz, electronica, funk, and global influences, grounded in strong musicianship and a distinctive melodic sensibility. Since his 2019 debut EP The Watcher, Arjuna has built international momentum through consistent tastemaker support, including live sessions and interviews with Gilles Peterson on Worldwide FM, appearances on Jazz FM during the EFG London Jazz Festival, and airplay across BBC Radio 6 Music, BBC Radio 2 Jazz with Jamie Cullum, and BBC Radio 3’s Round Midnight. Tracks such as Motel, No Joke, and Before It’s All Over have been championed across UK and international platforms, including KEXP and Jazz FM, with The Love That I Feel selected for Bandcamp’s Essential Releases of 2024. In parallel, Arjuna was invited to Spotify as part of its Fresh Finds artist group, fronting a campaign with billboards across the UK and Ireland, and featured on British Airways’ Next Big Thing series. Whether writing for ensembles, improvising in late night sessions, or shaping richly layered studio recordings, Arjuna works with clear intention and emotional honesty.
