Photos: Inside Rehearsal For THESPIANS At Mercury Theatre

Rehearsal photos have been released for THESPIANS, the new musical comedy from Mischief Theatre, ahead of its world premiere at the Mercury Theatre Colchester.

Written by Jonathan Sayer and Ed Zanders, the production is set in 534 BC on a small Greek island, where a group of bards attempt to avoid defeat in a nationwide prayer competition organized by a tyrant. When Thespis accidentally invents acting, the first play is born.

The cast includes Allie Dart as Rhapsodes/Dance Captain, Ashley Tucker, Claire-Marie Hall as Poly, Curtis Patrick, James Spence as Thespis, Josh Patel-Foster, Luke Latchman as Atlas, Marc Pickering as Adonis, Matt Cavendish as Bard, Mia Jerome as Melampus, and Rhys Taylor as The Tyrant.

The creative team includes director Robyn Grant, designer Jasmine Swan, choreographer Melody Sinclair-Marsh, lighting designer David Howe, sound designer Nick Lodge, and musical director Ben Smith, with associate director Joe Allen, casting directors Lucy Jenkins CDG and Sooki McShane CDG, and executive producer Henry Lewis.

THESPIANS will premiere at Mercury Theatre Colchester before embarking on a ten-week UK tour.
