After being voted West Virginia's Theatre of the Year in the 2018 BroadwayWorld Regional Awards, West Virginia Public Theatre (WVPT) is thrilled to announce their new summer season: Storming Heaven: The Musical (June 6-9, 11-16) and Patrick Barlow's The 39 Steps (June 26-30).
Storming Heaven: The Musical comes to the Gladys G. Davis Theatre in Morgantown, West Virginia opening June 7, 2019.
ng their acclaimed run last September, West Virginia Public Theatre (WVPT) returns to Monongalia Arts Center over Valentine's Day Weekend for a strictly limited three-show revival. The Last Five Years, which won both 'Best Musical' and 'Best Actor in a Musical' in the 2018 BroadwayWorld Regional Awards, is an intimate, funny, and devastatingly honest examination of life and love. The production opens today, February 14 at 8pm, with additional shows on February 15 at 8pm and February 17 at 2pm. There is no performance on Saturday the 16th. All performances will take place in the Tanner Theatre at Monongalia Arts Center (MAC).

Their work will conclude with a staged reading of the musical at 7:30pm today, January 19 in the Gladys G. Davis Theatre (WVU Creative Arts Center) in Morgantown. This is a non-ticketed event, free, and open to the public.
Storming Heaven, the acclaimed novel by West Virginia based writer Denise Giardina released in 1987, is being made into a musical and will have a pre-Broadway staged reading in Morganton, WV thanks to a collaboration with the West Virginia Public Theatre (WVPT).
