The Tall Girls by Meg Miroshnik, directed by Madeleine Regina, is set in the Dust Bowl of the 1930s in the tiny hamlet of Poor Prairie, where a mysterious man arrives by train and stirs up the community. He teaches at the high school and brings with him the only inflated basketball in town, igniting ambitions among the local girls. Inspired by the flourishing and decline of high school girls' basketball teams in the rural Midwest, the play asks who can afford the luxury of play and what is the cost of childhood.
