An enchanting classic of children’s literature by Frances Hodgson Burnett is reimagined in this Tony Award winning musical by composer Lucy Simon and Marsha Norman. Orphaned in India, 11-year-old Mary Lennox returns to Northern England to live with her embittered, reclusive Uncle Archibald. Mistress Mary’s quite contrary spirit is awoken by the charming Yorkshire natives, their connection to the land, and the spirits of the past haunting both the house and her dreams. The dreary estate’s saving grace is a hidden garden in which Mary discovers the beauty of nature and of the magic springing from the kindness in her soul.
