Prepare for an unforgettable experience as Riverside Center for the Performing Arts proudly presents the groundbreaking rock opera, Jesus Christ Superstar! Written by the legendary Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, this iconic production has captivated audiences worldwide since its debut in 1970, earning accolades such as the Drama Desk Award for Most Promising Musical, Tony Award nominations, and an Olivier Award for Best Musical Revival. Now, the story comes to life on our stage with electrifying performances, dynamic music, and stunning visuals March 12 through April 27, 2025.

Set against the backdrop of Jesus’ final days, Jesus Christ Superstar is an exploration of the relationships and struggles between Judas Iscariot and Jesus, featuring hit songs like “I Don’t Know How to Love Him,” “Gethsemane,” and “Superstar.”

Leading this poignant cast is Riverside’s very own Kevin Cleary as Jesus of Nazareth. Kevin has starred in many productions here at Riverside including Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, Murder on the Orient Express, They’re Playing Our Song & Jersey Boys. Returning to Riverside after many years is Anthony Nuccio as Judas Iscariot. Anthony last performed as Enjolras in Les Misérables.  Performing along with Kevin and Anthony are Kiley Ernest as Mary Magdalene, Daniel Peppert as Pontius Pilate, and Kathy Halenda as Herod. Anthony Williams will be Caiaphas, Elizabeth C. Butler as Annas, Chris Florio as Peter, and Zachary Spafford as Simon Zealotes.

The talented ensemble of singers and dancers bringing the energy of this timeless masterpiece to life include Mason Blaine, Barbara Breen, Josh Carias, Leo Jasper Davis, Kyle Donovan, Khanner Hancock, Victoria Joleen, Ian Lane, Oscar Madson, Chandler Pettus, Jake Ramirez, Sally Roehl, Olin Spencer, Abigial Weinel, and Stephanie Wood. Colby LeRoy and Kenda Long are our two swings for this production.

The team also includes Assistant Director Daniel Pippert and Choreographer Stephanie Wood.
