MacArthur “Genius” grant recipient Samuel D. Hunter’s intimate, powerful play is a thoughtful meditation on human resilience. Inside a small office in southern Idaho, two men struggle to understand the confounding terms of a mortgage loan while connecting over the joy and pain of fatherhood. The pair form an unlikely friendship, using humor to find hope in the face of heartbreak.

Nathan Darrow, Renea S. Brown, and Lee Osorio will lead Folger Theatre's staging of Shakespeare's MEASURE FOR MEASURE, directed by Psalmayene 24 and reset in the 1950s American South.
The 2026 Helen Hayes Award nominations have been announced, recognizing outstanding achievement in Washington-area professional theatre. Mosaic Theater Company will extend the DC premiere of Samuel D. Hunter’s A Case for the Existence of God through December 14 at the Atlas Performing Arts Center.
Studio Theatre in Washington, DC has appointed Jess Chayes as its new Associate Artistic Director. Chayes, an award-winning director and producer, brings a background in new play development and ensemble creation to the company.

Chelsea Radigan will move from Artistic Producer to Associate Artistic Director, while Shayna O’Neill will take on the role of Director of Stage and Production Management after serving as Resident Stage Manager.
