The winner of the 2005 Golden NYMFette, presented by BroadwayWorld.com and Final Draft software, has been announced. But I'm a Cheeleader, with book and lyrics by Bill Augustin and music by Andrew Abrams, was chosen by fans as their favorite of 43 eligible new musicals.

Yank, Richard Cory and The Mistress Cycle were the first, second and third runners-up, respectively, and Rooms and Nerds://A Musical Software Satire were tied for fourth runner-up.

One voter from all of those who voted will be chosen at random for a NYMF prize pack, including tickets to some of Off-Broadway's most popular musicals from NYMF 2004, including Altar Boyz and The Great American Trailer Park Musical.

Now in its second year, NYMF kicked off on September 12th and concluded on October 2nd. Dozens of musicals, concerts, special events and readings were featured in the festival. For more information, visit www.nymf.org.
