ABOUT THE SHOW:

Paparazzi takes the audience on a journey through the last century of popular music to “educate” on why opera is the greatest form of music ever devised. Because he believes all “pop music” has been influenced and shaped by it. Is it true? Who knows? He’ll try to convince you…and really, would it hurt to hear the man out? Worst scenario is that you’ll have some laughs and listen to exquisite music performed by professional musicians. This production verges on the vaudevillian, serving up some good, clean silliness for audiences young and old alike.

Led by Canadian musical theatre theatre professional Martin Murphy (Jean Valjean in Les Misérables, King Arthur in Spamalot) who morphs into a hilarious spoof of Luciano Pavarotti and also takes on a cavalcade of other musical greats like Tom Jones, Roy Orbison and Meat Loaf. He is joined by Bruce Petherick on piano, Jenaya Barker on accordion and vocals and Mark Richardson on guitar.

First Impressions Theatre’s recent production of Singers in a Smoky Room featured Martin as the bar owner of the fictious Flashback Club.
