Three human-sized rats are ready to learn! They dance ballet, study literature and take part in experiments. They are cute, curious and impeccably trained, and ALWAYS FOLLOW THE RULES.

What begins as an absurdly charming classroom gradually reveals something far more unsettling: beneath the fluffy costumes and seemingly innocent lessons lies a system that never quite goes away. Its rules are passed on, its routines repeated, and each new generation quietly drawn in...

Drawing on the history of animal experimentation and the atrocities committed by Unit 731 in the Asian theatre of the Second World War, RAT RAT RAT examines how institutional authority can turn cruelty into routine and asks:

How is obedience taught? How does violence become normalised?

And at what point do we stop questioning the rules of the system?
