RedBellyBlack Theatre Presents TACENDA
![]()
Following two award-winning runs at VAULT Festival with People's Choice Award Winner 2017 'A Year From Now' and Show Of The Week 2018 Winner 'OK, Bye', RedBellyBlack Theatre returns with the world premiere of TACENDA.
TACENDA (n): archaic term referring to things better left unsaid; opposite of 'agenda'.
Elizabeth and Joy have been friends forever, but they still have a tacenda. We all have to bite our tongues sometimes, right? But if Elizabeth and Joy don't start being honest they're going to live the same dishonest day over and over again... and they're not the only people who will suffer as a result.
They're ruining their best friend's birthday party, for one thing.
An exciting new piece of devised theatre about why we sugar-coat our words
Combining physical theatre, devised storytelling and a vicious sense of humour, TACENDA will blur the boundaries between reality and the surreal, forcing us all to relive our mistakes until we have the nerve to be straight with each other.
Artistic Director Kate comments "I am ecstatic to be presenting our work at the VAULT Festival. This annual event promotes the best and most unique productions in London fringe theatre, and to be counted among such incredible creative peers is a real honour. At a time of anxiety and uncertainty I am excited to show how RedBellyBlack strives to promote creativity, passion and empowerment. We believe in making theatre that challenges people to talk to one another, and we think that revealing our own tacendas is the best way to start."
