After 6 years on Broadway the Tony Award-winning musical AVENUE Q will play its final performance on SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 13th, 2009. It will have played 2,534 performances and 22 previews, surpassing THE PRODUCERS (on August, 17th), ANNIE, OKLAHOMA!, and PIPPIN, among many others to become the 20th longest running show in Broadway history.

The Philippine premiere of Duncan Sheik and Steven Sater's Tony award-winning rock musical SPRING AWAKENING will feature new actors Miguel Mendoza and Kelly Frances Lati when the production opens on September 25, 2009 at the Carlos P.Romulo Auditorium, RCBC Plaza in Makati City.

The 2009 Helpmann Awards® Ceremony will be held next Monday 27 July at 6.30pm at Opera Theatre, Sydney Opera House, whilst the After Party will be held at The Argyle in The Rocks. Hennepin Theatre Trust today announced two special additions to its 2009/10 Broadway Across America-Minneapolis season-The Wizard of Oz, a new stage production celebrating the timeless 1939 MGM film starring Judy Garland, and CATS, the Andrew Lloyd Webber classic

Shrek: The Musical star John Tartaglia will star in 'The New Fangled Variety Show' at Comix at 7pm and 9pm on August 10. The Musical of Musicals (The Musical!), the acclaimed off Broadway hit by Eric Rockwell and Joanne Bogart that has played to sold-out houses across the United Stages, in Canada and on London's West End, will return to New York for a one-night-only performance, on Wednesday, July 8 at 7:30pm. The evening will benefit the York Theatre Company, the award-winning off-Broadway company that first produced the show, in 2004, in honor of the theatre's 40th Anniversary.

Just weeks prior to the Tony Award-winning musical AVENUE Q's 6th anniversary on Broadway, one of the stars of the original cast, Ann Harada, returned to the role of 'Christmas Eve' on Monday, July 6th at the John Golden Theatre (252 West 45th Street) in New York City. Ms. Harada -- who created the role on Broadway and played 'Christmas Eve' in the London production -- was joined in the production by members of the U.S. national tour of AVENUE Q, which recently concluded a phenomenally successful two-year run: Robert McClure will assume the roles of Princeton/Rod on Broadway, along with Anika Larsen as Kate Monster/Lucy the Slut, and Danielle K.
