5-Star Theatricals Announces Full Cast For Special Benefit Evening Of DREAMGIRLS IN CONCERT

5-STAR THEATRICALS (formerly Cabrillo Music Theatre) presents a very special benefit event, ONE NIGHT ONLY - DREAMGIRLS IN CONCERT, music by Henry Krieger, book & lyrics by Tom Eyen, musical direction by Patrick Gandy, choreography by Lesia Kaye and directed by Robert Clater. DREAMGIRLS IN CONCERT will perform Saturday, February 16, 2018 at 8pm at the 1,800-seat Kavli Theatre at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, 2100 Thousand Oaks Boulevard in Thousand Oaks.

"DREAMGIRLS is one of the greatest musicals of all time and this benefit evening for 5-Star Theatricals will be full of surprises, a full orchestra onstage, spectacular choreography and one of the most thrilling scores sung by some of the most talented artists in Southern California!"

Robert Clater (Director) career includes the Broadway stage, films and national television. As a celebrated director, Mr. Clater has directed numerous productions of Dreamgirlsstarring Jennifer Holiday, Renee Elise Goldsberry, Christopher Jackson, Norm Lewis and Billy Porter; and his production at the CLOSBC earned 19 nominations and took home 11 awards including Best Director and Best Production. Mr. Clater is associated with numerous theatrical honors including Emmys, Tonys, Ovations.Currently, he is the Producer/Director for The Time of Nick which originally workshopped at Clater-Kaye Theatreworks and had a New York debut starring Tony winners Lillias White and Paul Kreppel.

LESIA KAYE (Choreography) is the Executive Director of Carolina Broadway Theatre Company and co-owner of Clater-Kaye Theatreworks. As an actress her favorite roles include Lorraine in 42nd Street with the original Broadway cast, Sonya Walsk in They're Playing Our Song, Philia in Forum, Irene Malloy in Hello Dolly, and The All Night Strut. She was nominated in Los Angeles as Best Choreographer for Ragtime, and her work choreographing Dreamgirls collaborating with Robert Clater.

The Cast for DREAMGIRLS IN CONCERT will feature: Lynette DuPree as Effie: Karla Mosley as Deena; Jenelle Randall as Lorrell; Chante Carmel as Michelle; Brian Evaret Chandler as Curtis, Eric B. Anthony as CC; Grasan Kingsberry as Wayne; Jeremy Whatley as Jimmy; Marvin Thornton as Marty. The Ensemble will feature (in alphabetical order): Deanna Anthony, Andy Arena, Emerson Collins, Zach Colonna, John Devereaux, Otis Easter, Lexie Faith, Mikaela Fleming, Kenney Green, Theresa Hayes, Gabrielle Jackson, Mitchell Johnson, Dominique Kent, Justyn Malik, Blake McIver, Annie Grace Payne, Jamie Pierce, Eran Scoggins, Shaunte Tabb and Sara Wimmer.

DREAMGIRLS IN CONCERT will perform Saturday, February 16, 2018 at 8pm at the 1,800-seat Kavli Theatre at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, 2100 Thousand Oaks Boulevard in Thousand Oaks.

Ticket prices are Premium Orchestra $86; Regular Orchestra $66; Founder's Circle $86; Front Mezzanine $51 & Rear Mezzanine $36.
