For seventeen years, Lena and Sophie build a life together. They create a home, celebrate milestones, endure heartbreak, care for one another through life's greatest challenges, and discover that love is often found in the quiet moments that never ask to be noticed.
Then, in an instant, everything they've built is called into question.
When Sophie's right to the life she shared with Lena is challenged because their relationship was asexual, Load-Bearing Walls asks us to examine what truly defines a lifelong partnership. Tender, heartbreaking, and unexpectedly joyful, Pamela Morgan's remarkable new play reminds us that love is measured not by how a relationship appears from the outside, but by the life two people build together.
This production is produced in association with Story Keepers first annual St.Petersburg New Play Festival.
