The Carrollwood Cultural Center presents The Broadway Kids and the Dance and Chamber Music students in concert on Saturday, December 19 at 1 pm.

The Broadway Kids will perform music of the season with some improvisation and original choreography under the direction of Mary Ann Scialdo and Teil Rey. Rey’s dance students will perform original choreography and Scialdo’s Chamber Music students (Harp, piano and clarinet) will demonstrate their skill with holiday music.

Suggested donation: $5 per person. Tickets can be purchased at the door.

The Broadway Kids is the Carrollwood Cultural Center’s Children’s Theatre Group, an ongoing program for young actors ages 8 to 14. Throughout the year, the company holds auditions for new company members as well as cast in a series of productions. Chamber Music and dance are classes offered all year long at the Carrollwood Cultural Center. For more information, visit our website at www.CarrollwoodCenter.org.

Mary Ann Scialdo is a Steinway Artist. She made her debut at New York’s Merkin Hall presenting The New York premier of Giannini’s Variations of a Cantus Firmus and the world premier at the Glinka Museum, Moscow Russia. Mary Ann is the Artistic Director of the Carrollwood Cultural Center.

Teil Guilford Rey is a native of Tampa. The daughter of nationally-renowned choreographers Frank and Betty Lee Rey, Teil has devoted her life to the entertainment industry, both as a performer and instructor.

The Carrollwood Cultural Center is a partnership between Hillsborough County and the Friends of the Carrollwood Cultural Center. It is the first cultural center in the Hillsborough County Parks, Recreation and Conservation Department system and opened in March 2008. The building is a complete renovation of the old St. Mark’s Episcopal Church and a new addition that provides more than 22,000 square feet of space for the arts.

The mission of the Friends of the Center is to offer cultural programs, services and events that encourage individual exploration and promotes a sense of community. The Center participates with several Florida interest groups to promote the arts and its influences throughout the community. These groups offer intergenerational programs as well as initiatives that address particular individual needs and encompass graphic and performing arts, continuing education, and community outreach programs.

The Carrollwood Cultural Center is located at 4537 Lowell Road, Tampa, FL 33618.  For more information, call (813)269-1310.
