Manatee Players to Present Thornton Wilder's OUR TOWN, 10/31-11/17

Thornton Wilder's Pulitzer Prize winning play OUR TOWN comes to the Bradenton Kiwanis Studio Theater Thursday October 31 and plays through November 17. This is only the second time that the Manatee Players have presented OUR TOWN, the first being in 1951.

Performances are Tuesday - Thursday at 7:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets are $26 including facility fee for adults, $15 including facility fee for teachers and $13 including facility fee for students. Tickets may be reserved by calling 941-748-5875 Monday - Friday from 9-5 and one hour before curtain on performance days or on the Manatee Players' website: www.manateeplayers.com. All performances are in the Bradenton Kiwanis Studio Theater at the Manatee Performing Arts Center, 502 3rd Avenue West in downtown Bradenton.

OUR TOWN is a 1938 three-act play by American playwright Thornton Wilder. Set in the fictional American small town of Grover's Corners, it tells the story of an average town's citizens in the early twentieth century as depicted through their everyday lives. Scenes from the town's history between the years of 1901 and 1913 are performed. The play is performed without a set and the actors mime many of their actions without the use of props.

This production was directed by Candace Artim and features the ensemble talents of Bill Atz, Jordan Ball, Sabrina Bowen, Hunter Brown, Caroline Cox, Lynne Doyle, Erica Drezek, Miriam Engle, Kristi Hibschman, Joseph Lambert, Bob Leonard, Jay Poppe, Tahj Porter, Peter Ruscoe, Mark Shoemaker, Dolan Sipes, Alex Topp, Bob Weintraub, Abigail Zion and Diana Shoemaker as 'the Stage Manager'.
