Jobsite Theater is honored to have a standing collaborative relationship with internationally-acclaimed playwright-filmmaker-poet Israel Horovitz since 2015, something that earned us a Best of the Bay Award for "Best Link with the Greater Theater World" just last year after presenting plays of his like Lebensraum, Breaking Philip Glass, Sins of the Mother, and privately workshopping new material he is working on. We open a new-ish (2015) Horovitz play, Gloucester Blue, in just a few weeks.

It was just announced yesterday that Horovitz will be honored as a "Legend of Off Broadway" at the 2017 Off Broadway Alliance Awards alongside Harvey Fierstein, Athol Fugard, Estelle Parsons, Charlotte Moore, and Paula Vogel. Horovitz has won a number of important awards over his impressive career including two Obies, the Drama Desk Award, The European Academy Award - Best Screenplay, The Sony Radio Academy Award.

He also won an Award in Literature from The American Academy of Arts and Letters; The Governor of Massachusetts' Leadership Award; The Prix de Plaisir du Theatre; The Prix Italia; The Writers Guild of Canada Best Screenwriter Award; The Christopher Award; the Elliot Norton Prize; a Lifetime Achievement Award from B'nai B'rith; the Literature Prize of Washington College; an honorary Doctorate in Humane Letters from Salem State College; Boston Public Library's Literary Lights Award; the Walker Hancock Prize, and many others.
