American Stage Theatre Company ends its record breaking 2010-11 season with Neal Simon's classic comedy, BAREFOOT IN THE PARK when it closes on September 25.

Neil Simon's BAREFOOT IN THE PARK is about those delicious, delirious and dicey first days of marriage. It's 1964, and newlyweds Paul (Gavin Hawk) and Corie (Samantha McKinnon Brown) are just starting their life together in a tiny, fifth floor Manhattan walkup. He's a straight-as-an-arrow lawyer and she's a free spirit always looking for the latest kick. On moving into their new apartment, the newlyweds are invaded by Corie's interfering mother as well as an aging lothario neighbor-in-the-attic. After a series of hilarious misunderstandings, Paul must figure out how to connect with Corie, who just wants him to be a little more spontaneous (running "barefoot in the park" would be a great start). Don't miss this sparkling, romantic comedy from the master of the form.

BAREFOOT IN THE PARK is directed by John O'Connell (DIAL "M" FOR MURDER) and stars Hawk (321), McKinnon Brown (LYSISTRATA), Richard Coppinger (THE SEAFARER), Brian Webb Russell (THE SEAFARER) and Nicki Savitt.

"We are so excited to end our season with a comedy by one of the greatest American Playwrights of all time, Neil Simon," said Todd Olson, American Stage's producing artistic director. "BAREFOOT IN THE PARK is the perfect show for anyone wanting to escape from the hot Florida sun and laugh for two hours."
