FreeFall Opens New Season With THE FANTASTICKS!
freeFall's 2018/2019 season opens with our most requested musical, THE FANTASTICKS. "Try to Remember" a time when this romantic charmer wasn't enchanting audiences around the world. THE FANTASTICKS is the longest running musical in the world and with good reason: at the heart of its breathtaking poetry and subtle theatrical sophistication is a purity and simplicity that transcends cultural barriers. The result is a timeless fable of love that manages to be nostalgic and universal at the same time.
THE FANTASTICKS stars Grace Choi (Luisa), Cameron Kubly (Matt), Michael Ursua (Hucklebee), Paul Helm (Bellomy) and Patrick Ryan Sullivan (El Gallo). The show also features Roxanne Fay (Henry), Daniel Schwab (Mortimer), and Nick Hoop (The Mute).
THE FANTASTICKS tells the story of two neighboring fathers who trick their children into falling in love, under the believed pretense that children cannot fall in love unless that love is forbidden. The fathers construct a wall between their houses, as well as a fabricated family feud; they hire a troupe of actors to stage fake kidnapping of the daughter, Luisa, so Matt can come to her rescue and in turn settle the family dispute. Of course, all things do not go according to plan!
Artistic Director Eric Davis takes this beloved classic and breathes new life in to the material using dueling pianos, puppetry and some exciting new staging. This all-new production is not to be missed.
Songs include: "Try To Remember," "Soon It's Gonna Rain," and "I Can See It." Michael Raabe musically directs THE FANTASTICKS.
The production runs September 22-October 21, with performances Wednesday through Sunday. Visit www.freefalltheatre.com for more info and to purchase tickets!
