SAVIOR is a satire written by Happy Feraren, inspired by her own time working for NGOs in the Philippines. The play follows Michelle, a local project officer who lands her dream assignment coordinating a global relief effort for a sleek American NGO after a typhoon hits the Philippines, only to discover the staff are all on Tinder and rooftop parties have replaced field work. As the humanitarian response devolves into a bureaucratic mess, Michelle must choose between her ambition, her conscience, and her country. The production skewers the ego, excess, and ethical gymnastics of corporate humanitarianism.
