Written by Budawang & Yuin writer Jorjia Gillis, Mum Club makes its world premiere with Griffin Theatre Company. The play follows Sadie, portrayed by Martu actor Stephanie Somerville, in a sharp and hilarious takedown of modern parenting culture. Inspired by Gillis's own experience turning to online mum groups after the birth of her firstborn during the 2020 pandemic, the story explores finding community with other Blak women. It is described as a love letter to the messy, funny, glorious resilience of Blak motherhood.
