Nepo Great Grandbaby (aka "Our Hebrew Friend") at Bondi Pavilion

Comedian David Rose brings his standup show Nepo Great Grandbaby (aka "Our Hebrew Friend") to Bondi Pavilion Theatre as part of the Sydney Comedy Festival, following sell-out seasons at the Adelaide Fringe Festival and Melbourne International Comedy Festival. The show traces the life of Rose's great-grandfather, Julian Rose, a vaudeville comedian known as "Our Hebrew Friend" who performed at the Royal Variety Show and on the BBC in the early 20th century. A century later, David reflects on their shared vocation, the complexities of Jewish identity, and what that means in 2026. Brought up atheist, educated at a Catholic school, and unaware of his Jewish roots until recently, Rose explores themes of legacy, identity, and finding one's place in the world.
