Uked! The Ukulele Sing-Along Play-Along Musical is Melbourne playwright Jane Cafarella's story of Karla, a woman dumped on her 50th birthday by her violin-playing boyfriend, who buys a ukulele and joins a dating site, discovering that love and the ukulele have a lot in common. Ian Stenlake, best known for the TV series Stingers and Sea Patrol, plays thirteen different characters including all of Karla's YouTube ukulele teachers and love interests, while Josephine Birch plays Karla. Directed by Ali Bendall, the production is interactive — audience members are welcome to bring their own ukuleles and play along, with chords and lyrics displayed on screen throughout the show.
