A kooky ukey love story with unique audience engagement.
Uked! by Jane Caferalla is the hilarious and poignant story of Karla, who is dumped on her 50th birthday by her violin-playing boyfriend, Brian.
Desperate to belong and prove her musical worth, Karla buys a ukulele and joins a dating site – learning that love and the ukulele have a lot in common.
Audience members can just sit back and enjoy the show, OR they can bring their uke and sing and play along with Karla.
Uked! stars folk singer and actress Josephine Birch as Karla.
Ian Stenlake, best known as the commanding officer in the TV series Sea Patrol and star of Mamma Mia! (Helpmann Award nominee) and most recently The 39 Steps at the Sydney Opera House, will play all Karla’s YouTube teachers.
Ian Stenlake will star in the Sydney premiere of UKED!, a sing-along, play-along ukulele musical at the Bondi Pavilion Theatre, alongside Josephine Birch in Melbourne playwright Jane Cafarella's comedy about love after 50.
