You Don't Have To Be Jewish at Bondi Pavilion

In the 60’s and 70’s Bob Booker released legendary comedy albums which vaulted into the charts, attracting legions of fans both Jew and Gentile.

Generations can recite the timeless sketches including A Call from Long Island, The Reading of the Will and The Plotnik Diamond.

Now the Australian stage premiere of the musical revue will take place at the newly renovated Bondi Pavilion Theatre and newly renovated Emanuel Synagogue Woollahra.

The team from the Bondi Theatre Company has selected the best and most timeless sketches from the albums You Don't Have To Be Jewish, When You're In Love the Whole World is Jewish and Jewish American Princess.

Bob Booker now aged 92 says the album is still popular today because “funny is funny.”

“It has the heart and soul that other humour does not necessarily have, because the people behind it have the heart and soul, and the gift of humour.”
