About the program

We foster an environment for our students that is supportive and challenging. Strong dance technique, intensive theory, guest artist residencies, abundant performance and creative opportunities define the dance program at Mason. The School of Dance is acknowledged as one of the premier institutions offering professional preparation for a career in dance.

Acceptance rate

The School of Dance at George Mason University accepts about 20 students per freshman class. The school is selective and has a 95% retention rate for dance majors.
