The Hip Hop Nutcracker is a contemporary holiday dance spectacle directed, choreographed, and co-created by Jennifer Weber, featuring hip hop founding father Kurtis Blow as host and MC. The production blends hip hop dance with Tchaikovsky's classic Nutcracker score, following Maria-Clara and the Nutcracker Prince on a dream adventure set against the vibrant backdrop of contemporary New York City. The powerhouse cast includes a dozen all-star dancers, an on-stage DJ, and an electric violinist, with innovative digital graffiti and visuals transforming the stage. The show is executive produced by three-time Tony winner Eva Price and was co-created by Weber and writer Mike Fitelson in 2013.
