Joshua's Boots is a co-production by COCA and Opera Theatre of Saint Louis, featuring an opera composed by Adolphus Hailstork. The story follows a Black teenager who flees his home in 1878 to find new opportunity in the American West, overcoming prejudice and obstacles to become a cowboy and establish a new life. The full-scale, 55-minute family opera features three professional opera performers, along with principal and chorus roles for students.
