DreamWorks' Madagascar: A Musical Adventure Jr. is a stage adaptation of the hit DreamWorks film, presented by The J's Theater Unlimited, a barrier-free theatre program for adults with disabilities. The story follows Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe, and Gloria the Hippo as they escape from the Central Park Zoo and embark on an adventure to the island of Madagascar. Along the way, the characters discover the meaning of friendship, teamwork, and home, with songs, humor, and appearances by the fan-favorite penguins. Founded in 1987, Theater Unlimited gives adults with disabilities the opportunity to audition, rehearse, and perform full productions each season.
